Big Al’s Pizza was originally opened in 1979 by brothers Alan and Alvin Muezenberger. Their love for food and community created some of La Crosse’s most delicious pizza–Big Al’s Pizza has been a staple for the La Crosse area for 40 years! You’ll be surrounded by vintage Americana, friendly staff, and all of the pizza you can eat at Big Al’s Pizza. Each day we make our pizza dough from scratch. We make your order when you place it. We use 100 percent real Wisconsin Mozzarella cheese, locally purchased vegetables - cut fresh daily and top quality meats. We don't skimp out on the toppings. We use the same Al’s Original secret crust, pizza and sauce recipes that have been used to create this iconic La Crosse pizza since it’s opening in 1979. In this new chapter of Big Al’s story, we want to ensure that generations of families are able to enjoy the same great tastes that they have always known.

Check out our decor from our handcrafted airplanes made by a local artist, our 1959 car coming out of the wall over the door to the (rather hilarious) picture of Nixon. The vintage Americana, neon beer signs, and pieces of history sprinkled throughout the restaurant creates a truly unique dining experience in Historic Downtown La Crosse.
